Information we collect

Health and movement data

With your permission, Stride reads steps, distance, workouts, and heart rate from Apple Health, and uses Motion & Fitness data for supported step and activity tracking. You control this access at any time in iPhone Settings.

Location

If you allow it, Stride uses your location to record the route, distance, speed, and elevation of a walk or run you start.

Account information

Friends and some cloud features require sign-in with Apple or Google. We receive the basic profile details those services share with us, such as your name, email address, or a private relay address.

Friends and rankings

If you choose to share, people whose friend request you have accepted can see your activity totals (steps, distance, and calories) in rankings. We do not share your routes or heart rate with friends.

Photos and links for AI shoe collectibles

If you use Stride Pro’s AI shoe feature, the photo or product-page link you provide is sent to OpenAI, our AI provider, to generate your collectible. Under OpenAI’s API terms, content submitted through the API is not used to train its models by default.

Purchases

Subscriptions are handled by Apple. We receive confirmation of your subscription status but not your payment details.

Usage and device data (analytics)

We use Google Analytics (including Google Analytics for Firebase) to understand how the app and website are used, such as which features you open, app version, device model, operating system, approximate region, and crash or performance information. This data is used to improve Stride, not to advertise to you.

Website

This website is a simple informational site. We do not ask you to create an account to view it.

How we use information

• To show your steps, distance, calories, and activity history.
• To record and display your walks and runs.
• To provide friends, rankings, and sign-in.
• To generate AI shoe collectibles you request.
• To send notifications, only if you turn them on.
• To operate, secure, and improve the app, and to provide support.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your health data for advertising.

Where your data is stored

Much of your movement data stays on your device and in Apple Health. Account, friends, and AI features use cloud services, so related information is processed and stored on Google Cloud / Firebase infrastructure, which may be located in countries other than your own, including India and the United States. By using Stride you understand your information may be transferred to and processed in those countries.

Sharing

We share information only:

• With friends you have accepted, as described above.
• With Google, which hosts our cloud services and provides analytics.
• With OpenAI, which generates AI shoe collectibles from the photos or links you submit.
• When required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and Stride.

Retention and deletion

We keep account information for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account and its associated cloud data at any time from within the Stride app. If you cannot access the app, you can also ask us to delete it by emailing contact@thestrideclub.app. Data stored in Apple Health is controlled by you in the Health app.

Your choices and rights

You can change Health, Location, Motion & Fitness, and Notification permissions in iPhone Settings. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, or to object to certain processing. You can delete your account in the app, or contact us to make a request.

Children

Stride is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

India

We are based in India. We process personal data in line with applicable Indian law, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. You may delete your account in the app, request access, correction, or erasure of your data, withdraw consent, or raise a grievance by emailing contact@thestrideclub.app. We will respond within a reasonable time.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version here and update the date above.
